Apple Cranberry Crisp


Oats, apples, and cranberries give this old-fashioned, homey dessert a healthful 4 grams of fiber per serving.

Ingredients

* 5 cups thinly sliced peeled apples
* 1 cup fresh cranberries
* 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice or ground cinnamon
* 1/2 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
* 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice or ground cinnamon
* 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a 2-quart baking dish, combine apples and cranberries. In a small bowl, stir together granulated sugar and 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice. Sprinkle over fruit mixture in baking dish; toss to coat.

In a small bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle oat mixture evenly over apple mixture.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until apples tender.Serve warm.
